I’m Kamal Ahmed, a full-stack software engineer based in the UAE. I’ve been building WordPress plugins and themes since 2013, with a focus on code that is clear to maintain and dependable to use.
What I work on
My work spans WordPress architecture, the PHP ecosystem, and modern frontend and backend development. I also explore AI and language model integrations: connecting useful capabilities to the everyday work people need to do.
I enjoy making sense of an existing codebase, improving how its parts fit together, and working through the edge cases that make software reliable.

- Deployward — a WordPress plugin for deploying themes and plugins from GitHub, with deployment history and rollback.
- LicenseKit — a self-hosted licensing and update server for WordPress products.
- Invoicer — a browser-based tool for creating and managing invoices.
Along the way
My experience includes WordPress engineering at Nara Hospitality Group, Kahunas, Dirayaah Smart Technologies, SiteCare, Ubersuggest, rtCamp, and WPDeveloper. That work has included custom platforms, plugin development, maintenance, and performance.
I’ve contributed to the WordPress ecosystem through projects including Essential Addons for Elementor and rtMedia, as well as plugin development and translation on WordPress.org.
